Last day to save up to $50 at Amazon for American Express Membership Reward cardholders

This post may contain affiliate links from our advertising partners, such as American Express. Read my Advertiser Disclosure policy here. Additionally, some of the offers on this page may no longer be available through Deals We Like.

If you are into saving money at Amazon, this amazing promotion is about to end in just a few hours. Although a targeted offer, you could potentially receive a 40% discount (capped at a $50 savings) or a 30% discount (capped at $30 savings). You’ll need to check your account to see if you can enroll in the offer and make your purchase by end of day as it expires on June 30, 2020.

To receive the savings, all you have to do is use just one American Express Membership Reward point towards your purchase. You won’t want to use more as it is not a good redemption rate, but using just one will trigger the savings.

You can even use this towards a discount on many third-party gift cards or combine with any Amazon’s daily deals, such as the current 20% off pool floats promotion.

Steps to save money with Amazon:

  • If you haven’t already linked your American Express card to your Amazon account, you can do that here. (TIP: If you are not targeted for this offer, unlink your card and relink to see if that triggers the promotion).
  • Activate the offer in your Amazon account
  • Shop at Amazon.com to receive your savings. Note: All products must be sold and shipped by Amazon.com.
  • On the payment page, select your linked Membership Rewards earning credit card. At the bottom of the payment page you’ll see all your linked accounts where you can use points (Chase and Amex). Select your American Express Membership Rewards Points account and enter the number of points you want to use towards your purchase. Since I do not like redeeming my points at Amazon (due to the low redemption value), I entered just 1 cent which means 1 point will be applied. For the promotion to apply, the minimum amount required is only 1 pointDo not do full points as it is not a good value!
  • On the checkout page, you’ll see the 1 point applied and the 30% or 40% savings will be taken off. No promotion code needed!

Even more Amazon savings

Now, if you are not eligible for the above promotion — or even if you are — you might be eligible for another similar offer. With this offer, you’ll receive $20 off an $80 purchase — so up to a 25% discount. Again, this is a targeted offer, so you’ll have to check your account to see if you are eligible. This particular promotion doesn’t expire until July 31, 2020.

Overall…

This are some awesome promotions and great ways to save even more money at Amazon. Since this promotion doesn’t require a coupon code, you are also able to combine it with any codes that surface. Just remember to active the promotion and apply 1 Membership Reward point at checkout. Enjoy your discounted Amazon purchase!

I activated the offer, which was $20% off max $50. My subtotal was $66 but the amex discount was only $3, which is 5% not 20%. Do you know why that is?

I am going to try these steps to take advantage of this amazing deal. I generally use coupons for my online shopping needs.

I tried applying this to a future Amazon Prime membership subscription and don’t think the 20% off applied, has anyone tried this?
