If you are looking to make some good money and earn credit card points along the way, there’s a new coin buying deal available.

In just a few days, March 17, the US Mint will be releasing the American Eagle 2022 Gold Proof Four-Coin Set for a little over $5,000 (the exact price will be set tomorrow by the US Mint). PFS Buyers Club will then be offering to buy the coin for you with a $162.55 profit. Of course this is a huge chunk of money, but I’ve always had positive experience with purchasing coins and selling to this particular coin buying club. If you are interested, I’ve detailed out the entire deal below.

Aside from the profit you’ll make, you’ll also use a credit card to purchase the coins from the US Mint and then PFS sends you a check. That means you are also earning free credit card points for the purchase and it is a great way to meet minimum spend!

PFS also makes the transaction extremely seamless. Once you purchase the coins, you will put your order information on the PFS site and they send you a prepaid shipping label. Once the coins arrive on your doorstep (although at times they require a signature), you attach the shipping label to the box, and drop it off at FedEx within 2 business days. Once PFS receives the coins, they will send you a check in just 7 business days. It is really an easy way to make some money for not a lot of time spent.

A new deal coming tomorrow

On Thursday, March 17, 2022, the US Mint will be releasing a limited edition American Eagle 2022 Gold Proof Four-Coin Set. You are limited to one per household for a cost of either $5,332.50 or $5,240.00 (plus $4.95 shipping). PFS will pay you back the amount paid (plus shipping cost), plus an additional $162,55. Regardless the price of the coin, you’ll profit $162.55.

In addition to making money on this deal, you’ll also earn points based on the credit card you use for the purchase. I suggest using a card where you need to meet minimum spend, or one where you earn some extra benefit for meeting a certain spend threshold (i.e., free night hotel certificate, Southwest companion pass, hotel status, etc.). For example, if you use the Chase Freedom Unlimited you’ll earn 1.5x points for this purchasing — so over 7,800 Chase Ultimate Reward points. If coupled with a Chase Sapphire Preferred or Reserve, I value that to be approximately $156 in value towards travel (2 cents apiece). And that is in addition to the profit. I personally will be putting the money on my Southwest credit card as I am extremely close to earning the Southwest Companion Pass.

Things to know

I’ve taken advantage of these offers MANY times. In just the past year, I’ve purchased over a handful of coin deals. All deals went through perfectly and my payment was sent on time. I’ve never once had an issue and found the process to be beyond easy. With that being said, it is important to follow the directions of the deal exactly as stated. But if you are risk adverse, this deal is probably not for you.

To be eligible to purchase the coins and have them bought back, you must register for the offer in advance. If you do not register and receive an approval confirmation email you will not be reimbursed. Registration fills up fast, so make sure to register NOW!

The coins go on sale at noon ET on March 17th, so make sure to purchase the coins at that time on the dot. You’ll then need to input your purchase information on their website by 1pm ET. You can create a PFS account and register for this offer here. You’ll also want to create an account with the US Mint in advance, which you can do here. (Note: When the coin arrives at your house, PFS asks that you do not open the box).

NOTE: ONLY REGISTER AND OPT IN FOR THIS DEAL IF YOU ABSOLUTELY ARE 100% COMMITTED TO FULFILLING THE DEAL, REGARDLESS OF THE VALUE OF THE COINS (SOMETIMES THEY ARE VALUED HIGHER OR LOWER FROM THE PAYMENT PRICE). PFS ALWAYS PAYS AND ONTIME.

Overall…

This is a great money-making offer, as well as a great opportunity to earn points and miles. I will personally be taking advantage of this offer, but you must do what you feel comfortable with. In no way am I telling you to do this or taking responsibility for a large purchase.

So register now (if you are comfortable with this promotion) and set your alarm to 11:55am ET on March 17, 2022.

515×1.5 = 515?

Also PFS is willing to pay $85. Not sure where the $145 profit calculation comes from. $600 – $515 = $145? Not sure how the author’s math or lack thereof is being deployed.

I can’t in good conscience promise PFS that I will be able to ship them these coins within two days of “sometime in October” unless I have no travel scheduled for that month. I have to pass, because I already have a trip scheduled sometime in October, and may have to change it closer to the date. Others would be wise to pass unless you’re absolutely sure you can commit to mail a package during an unknown 48 hour period in the month of October (unless you’d like to own some ultra-shiny coins!)

Many people say they have had a good experience with PFS. but if you drop your coins in the mail to PFS and never get paid, you are out $5,000. With NO recourse. for a 3% profit? no thanks. you do you.
