Earlier this week I wrote about a new Amex Offer where people where receiving targeted offers in their AmericanExpress.com account for an Amazon statement credit. This offer was not available via Twitter (and still is not), but now there is a direct link to the offer! This means that if you were not targeted for the offer, you are now eligible!  This offer is a $15 statement credit with a $60+ purchase at Amazon.com (expires December 31, 2015).

Have multiple American Express credit cards?

The only thing though, I am not sure if the multiple browser trick will work. I already added this offer to all my accounts earlier this week so I am not able to personally try it. If you have multiple American Express credit cards within the same account, one work around is to add the offer to a card in your account, make your $60 Amazon.com purchase, disconnect the card registered from your account, and then register the offer to another card. If you already registered this offer to a card in your account and trying to register it now to another card, you might need to disconnect the registered card from your account first and then register the non-targeted card to the offer. Please leave your experience in the comments section to help out other readers. Fortunately, every family members accounts that I manage was targeted for this offer on every American Express card, so I do not need to use the direct link.

Maximizing this offer

The easiest way to take advantage of this offer is to purchase a $60 Amazon.com gift card. This is because the $60 must happen in a single transaction and you can then use the $60 over multiple purchases. It is also very easy to then save your Amazon gift card in your account to apply it to future purchases. Go to My Account > Apply a Gift Card to Your Account

I can confirm that the multiple browser trick does work since I used it a few days ago for this offer.

Multiple browser strategy works. Do get $60 gift card THEN purchase bc my $60 purchase got billed in 2 charges, thus didn’t work. Ugh!

An easier way is to use the ‘reload my giftcard balance’ with that you dont have to worry about applying the giftcard to your account.. you just do the reload for 60$ and the money is linked to your amazon gift balance already.

So since you have to log in to the amex.com portal, you mean to say “$15 FREE to Amazon for EVERYONE with an Amex-issued Amex”

“Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 12/31/15, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase(s). “

This worked great for multiple purchases over $60 until one of the sellers credited my account for having sent the wrong product. Then the $15 got charged right back to my amex card.
