It has been reported by blogger Delta Points, that Office Max is selling $300 MasterCard Debit Gift cards for only $280. You can purchase 2 per person, but there is always the chance that your store might allow you to purchase more.

Maximizing the deal:

  • Use your American Express credit card that has already been synced to the Office Depot/Office Max promotion. They have already reached the maximum limit on Twitter so if you have not already synced (and it is not in your AmericanExpress.com account) you unfortunately will not be able to take advantage. However, if you’ve already synced your card you can get a $10 statement credit with a $50 purchase. If you have multiple synced Amex cards you can split the transaction into multiple purchases. • For the remaining amount owed (or if you do not have an Amex card), use a card that gives you 5x points at office supply stores. This includes Amex SimplyCash, Chase Ink Bold, Chase Ink Plus, Chase Ink Classic, and Chase Ink Cash.

You can then use the MasterCard as a normal form of payment on everyday purchases. Enjoy!

Is this good at Office Depot as well since they are now the same company?

They also are selling (Metabank) Visa GC. I prefer them over MC which can be less reliable. I had a limit of $600 so i’ll just go back tomorrow when a different manager is on duty since they needed a manager override and he would only allow $600.
