Update: This offer has expired.

The Marriott Premier Rewards Credit Card is one of my top credit cards to have and to hold. The reason for this is that on every anniversary year you receive a free night hotel certificate to use at a category 1-5 property. While of course this is for lower level hotel categories, I’ve always been able to use the certificate at a Marriott hotel that would have cost me well over $100 night. This means the free night certificate can easily pay for the annual fee plus more. I personally have had my Marriott card since 2005 and have kept onto it ever since.

Right now there are three different offers for the same exact Marriott Rewards Premier Credit Card. If you are looking to apply for this card, it is good to know which offer is better and apply for the one that works best for your situation.

Offer #1: Earn 75,000 points after spending $3,000 on the card within the first three months.

While this offer will give you the least number of points, the annual fee is waived for the first year, then will cost you $85 per year.a credit card and a picture of a beach

Offer #2: Earn 80,000 points after spending $3,000 on the card within the first three months

This offer will give you 80,000 points for spending the exact same amount on the card as the first offer, but the annual fee is not waived the first year. This means you’ll need to spend an extra $85 to earn 5,000 bonus points. Since Marriott points are worth approximately .8 cents per point paying the extra $85 is definitely not worth it! As a frame of reference, you can purchase those extra 5,000 points through Marriott directly for $65 – not something I’d recommend but cheaper then paying $85. I would NOT suggest applying for this offer!a credit card with a bonus points

Offer #3: Earn up to 120,000 points

This is a very unique offer where you’ll earn 10x points on every purchase made up to 120,000 points for your first year. After you hit the 120,000 points, you’ll earn based on the regular Marriott credit card spend categories.

This offer requires you to spend $12,000 your first year to earn the maximum number of points, which is a lot of money to spend on the card! This is $9,000 more then the other card offer! So is spending $9,000 worth the extra 55,000 points? This really comes down to how much money you are able to spend on the card within the calendar year and if you are then taking spend away on other cards that could earn you more. It also might take away from meeting minimum spend on another card. So while earning the extra points is great, it really depends on your spend habits and the other credit cards you have or looking to apply for. a black card with white text

Overall…

With all of these offers, you are eligible for the sign up bonus as long as you aren’t an existing card member and you haven’t received a sign up offer in the past 24 months.
