Three new Amex Offers just popped up which can save you a boatload of money on your next Hilton stay. That is, if you are traveling to Mexico, Puerto Rico or within the US. All three offers expire March 31, 2020 and allow you to save up to $165.
You’ll have to check your AmericanExpress.com account to see if you have been targeted for this offer. I personally see this offer most of my accounts, although I can only use it once per account. Surprisingly, the one account I do not see it on is my Hilton credit cards. It seems as though, the minimum spend charge also must hit your statement in a single charge and cannot be cumulative over multiple stays.
If you have an American Express Membership Reward, you might also instead an offer to earn points instead of a statement credit. If you have both offers across two different cards, you can actually take advantage of both offers. If you have an expensive upcoming stay, have the front desk split your final bill amongst both cards.
Even if you are using points, all incidentals charged to your room will still count towards the minimum threshold. This includes all activities, restaurants, bar tabs, etc. For example, if you have an upcoming stay this winter at the Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort and using points, if you spend an additional $500 on food and activities, you’ll still receive that $75 statement credit.
Remember, for each offer, the statement credit only applies if you stay within the particular brand mentioned in that particular region. For the Mexico and Puerto Rico offer, any property within the Hilton portfolio qualifies. But for the Tru by Hilton offer, only Tru hotels within the US and US territories will count. Any rate qualifies, but you must make the reservation directly with Hilton, not a third-party reservation system. This means you can combine a discounted AAA rate, fore example, with the statement credit for even more savings.
For those that are able to take advantage of this offer, enjoy the savings!
