Free Uber Credit for New Customers

This is an updated post from yesterday. It came to my attention that Uber no longer allows a referral promotion and first user promotion to be used together in one account. This is unfortunate, but I guess it is what it is.

So here are the two promotions:

  • One free ride up to $25: Through Amazon Local’s deal-a-day site you can get one free ride through October 31, 2014 up to $25. This is for new accounts and NOT valid for UberT
  • $20 in free credits: By signing up through a referral link, you can get $20 in free credits. This can be used across multiple rides unlike the Amazon promotion where it is only valid for one ride.  This IS valid for UberT.

Additionally, for those that live in Cleveland you can also get 5 free rides (new and existing users) up to $25 per ride. This ends Wednesday April 23, 2014. No promotion code needed. Check out details at DansDeals.

What is Uber? If you’ve been reading this blog for awhile, you are probably well educated on what Uber is, but in case you have not been paying attention or new to this site, Uber is an“On-demand car service that allows everyone to have a private driver experience through iPhone, SMS, and web based requests.” It is less expensive than a car service, but slightly more expensive than a yellow cab. Your credit card is stored in your account so there is no exchange of money at the end of the ride. A 20% gratuity is automatically added as well. Cars are extremely new/clean and the company will even text you with the drivers name for extra security.

Unfortunately I cannot allow others to post their referral link as it is against Ubers referral terms and you run the risk of getting your account shut down.

Must have done something wrong because the Amazon voucher says, “For new customers only” – though it was a new account. I think the first credit (referral) conflicted and they don’t allow stacking coupons. How did you get it to stack?

Does not work. Looks like Uber has “fixed” the promo stacking.
