The third-party hotel booking site, PointsHound, is offering another FlyingBlue promotion where you’ll earn an additional 8,000 bonus points of a hotel reservation of 2 or more nights. While this isn’t as good as the 12,000 bonus promo they had back in October, it is still something. This is valid for hotel rooms booked by November 30, 2016 for first time bookers with the site.
I searched for a random date in Orlando and found the Hyatt Place for $110/night + tax. This hotel stay will net you 9,900 FlyingBlue miles. With PointsHound you’ll earn the airline miles for the partner airline you selected and NOT the hotel points. So for this example, you will not earn Hyatt points, although sometimes it slips through the cracks.
This promotion is not mattress run worthy, but worthwhile if you already have a 2 night stay you are looking to book and the rate is comparable to booking directly with the hotel.
What will FlyingBlue miles get you?
- One-way flights between North America and the Caribbean/Central America cost 15,000 miles + tax
- One-way flights between North America and Hawaii cost 15,000 miles + tax
You can top off the miles needed by transferring points from:
- Citi Thank You Points (1:1) ¤ American Express Membership Rewards (1:1)
- Chase Ultimate Rewards (1:1)
Keep in mind that points expire 20 months points after they earned, unless you take a qualifying flight that earns Flying Blue miles.
