UPDATE: This offer is no longer available.
American Express just significantly increased the Hilton HHonors Surpass card offer to 80,000 points after spending $3,000 within the first 90 days. This is an American Express card that comes with a $75 annual fee. It also comes with some decent perks:
- Complimentary Gold status annually – this is one of the best mid-tier hotel statuses as it gives you complimentary breakfast and the possibility of getting upgraded and lounge access
- Diamond elite status after spending $40,000 on the card in a calendar year
- Earn 12 points for $1 spent at Hilton hotels
- Earn 6 points per $1 spent at supermarkets, restaurants, and gas stations
- Earn 3 points on all other purchases
While this is one of the best offers for this particular card, Hilton points aren’t worth much these days. But since it is an American Express card you can take advantage of all the Amex Offers throughout the year. This offer expires February 28, 2015.

Ug, I just applied for this card last week with the 60K point offer. I’ve tried to chat online and the rep said they can’t manually change the offer to the 80K point offer. Any idea if any other avenues work with Amex to bump up my bonus? Thanks!
Do u know of any instances when someone who already has this card was approved?
@angela – I haven’t heard of any recent reports but in the past people were.
I have two of the regular Amex HHonors card (both personal). I can’t say for sure if the Surpass would be any different.
