There is currently an increased offer for the Virgin Atlantic MasterCard, although the minimum spend is quite high to get the full bonus offer of 90,000 miles.

  • 20,000 miles after your first purchase
  • 50,000 miles after spending $12,000 within the first six months
  • 5,000 miles for adding 2 authorized users
  • 7,500 miles for spending $15,000 total in the first year of membership
  • 7,500 miles for spending $25,000 total in the first year of membership

So to get the full miles, you’ll need to spend $37,000 in the given timeframe and add two authorized user. This is not an ideal offer in my opinion, although it will get you a decent number of miles. With this card you earn 1.5 miles per dollar spent, so the $37,000 will give you an extra 55,500 miles.

To use your Virgin Atlantic miles you will most likely incur some hefty fuel charges for international travel so keep that in mind when applying. However, View from the Wing put together some of the best ways to use your miles without paying an a ton of miles or fees for your redemption.

Now, if you have no interest in accruing Virgin Atlantic miles, you can transfer your miles to Hilton at a 2:3 ratio That means the 90,000 bonus miles will give you 135,000 Hilton points. And the $37,000 in minimum spend will also give you another 82,500 Hilton points (points can only be transferred in 5,000 mile increments), so in theory this sign up bonus can get you 218,250. Just remember though, that is a lot of spend to put on a card!

This card comes with an annual fee of $90 and the offer will expire on December 19, 2014.

Thanks to Points Centric for sharing this offer.
