This is a reminder that today is Small Business Saturday! Register all your Amex credit cards and enjoy some free money! The post below described how to register, and here is an FAQ list. I highly recommend reading this to ensure you maximize your savings!
During small business Saturday (Saturday November 29th) you can get a up to a $30 statement credit when using  a registered American Express credit card at participating small businesses in your local community. With a $10 transaction, you will get a $10 statement credit – and you can do this up to three times PER Amex card (the $10 can include tax, FYI). While you can only receive three credits per American Express card, there is no limit to the number of cards you can register. If you have multiple Amex cards and have an expensive purchase, have the local business split the charges amongst the various cards you have!
The three $10 transactions can be considered free money. The statement credit typically hits your account within a week. To be eligible, you must first register for this promotion, or tweet #AmexShopSmall with your synced Amex card. I highly suggest getting your American Express cards together and register now! And then go out and support your local business while also getting something for free. It is a win-win situation! You can check out eligible merchants here.
And just a side note… unfortunately, corporate cards and Target RedCards are not eligible but all other American Express cards can be registered – another great advantage of an American Express points/miles earning credit card. This includes (just to list a few), Starwood American Express, Hilton American Express, Costco American Express, Bloomingdales American Express, Macy’s American Express, American Express Gold Rewards Card, American Express Platinum Card, Citi AAdvantage American Express, etc. And fortunately, Amex Bluebird and Amex Serve are eligible! The business versions of these cards also qualify. If you have added authorized users, those cards are also eligible and are separate from the primary card. This, however, does not work for secondary cards that have the same account number which is typically the case for the Citi American Express cards.
I will personally be buying gift cards at a local ski shop to eventually get new skis! At least that is the plan right now. Where will you be shopping today on Small Business Saturday?

can the same card be used twice at a merchant to get the $10 credit twice?
The local ski shop is not a best place to buy skies. It is atlist 50% less if you buy it on ebay, last your model demo model from the ski resort.
i picked up $30 worth of gift cards at my favorite bakery this AM, split by 3 transactions of $10 each, but ive yet still to get the confirmation email, even after registering the card….does it take awhile? Some get the email right away!
Some of my participating local businesses are just too funny – a strip club, a gun shop, a hookah bar. Anyway, I used mine to have a BBQ lunch at a new place and then hit up a liquor store to subsidize my Christmas booze bill – cheap sparkling wine for mimosas and a bottle of Bailey’s 🙂
