The discount online hotel reservation site TravelPony is having a 3-day sale and offering its members an additional 7% off already discounted room rates. I’ve used this site many times in the past and in almost every scenario have found the prices to be less than I could get elsewhere. You have until end of day January 1, 2015 to make your reservation using promotion code HappyNewYear. If you are new to TravelPony, read this prior blog post to learn more.
If you are not yet a member, make sure to first sign up through a referral link so you can get a $35 credit towards your next $200+ reservation. Unfortunately though, it cannot be combined with the extra 7% promotion code, but you can always use it or a future hotel reservation. My referral link but feel free to post your own in the comments section.
This will give you 7% off the already discounted savings of anywhere between 10-45%. When searching through a particular destination, you will see the additional savings off the price quoted. At checkout you will see your final price with the two promotions applied.
Also remember, if you have a hotel room previously booked and you haven’t gone past the cancellation policy, cancel and rebook. I’ve been able to do that before and save myself an additional $17 per night!
My experience using TravelPony: Back in September, I booked a two night stay at The Palazzo in Las Vegas for a total of $258.20 after taxes. That same reservation would cost $428.56 through the hotel site directly! For that particular scenario, Jetsetter was also more expensive. I tried a bunch of codes with the hotel site on the IHG website to get a lower reservation rate and none were accepted, so TravelPony saved me about $170! I did not, however, receive the points, so keep that in mind. Related blog post.
A few months ago TravelPony launched an app where every city has one hotel on sale every day. While you will not be able to apply the 7% HappyNewYear code, the promotion code FLASHPONY can be used on the app which gives you that extra 10-45% off.
Always make sure that you are getting the best possible rate when booking a hotel reservations! Some pricing will be better, where some will not. Overall, I’ve seen very favorable pricing.
