InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) just announced their next promotion, again another “Accelerate” offer which will run between January 1 and April 30, 2016. This promotion will allow you to earn somewhere around 40,000-50,000 bonus points when completing various tasks.
Like most other IHG promotions, the number of points you can earn is targeted per account. That means this promotion will be better for some than others. Although, to earn the maximum number of points, it could potentially require a decent number of stays. You can see your targeted offer and register for the promotion here.
My personal offer looked like this:
Remember, some “tasks” overlap, so one stay might check multiple boxes. For example, one of my options is to stay once in the month of January. This will earn me 5,000 points, but also completes the “Stay Once Get 6,000″offer. So that means that one stay could net you 11,000 points.
My promotion isn’t personally worthwhile, but I know there are some other targeted offers that can be extremely generous. For example, Ben over at One Mile at A Time received an offer that essentially allows him to have one stay and earn 45,000 points. That can absolutely be mattress run worthy. I checked the rest of my families offers and while some where better than mine, none were too great. But if you were planning on staying at an IHG hotel anyways, you might as well earn the extra points!

Two quick questions–If I already have stays booked in January and then register for this promo, will the stays qualify or do I need to re-book?
Also, do award stays count?

Ok I have a question- my offer is
-stay once in Jan-5000
-stay once,-6000
-stay 5 days-10000
-stay at 2 hotels-8000
-spend 1 stay on ihg card-1500
-complete 3/4 offers-24500
from what I am reading- that would mean I could book one nite in Jan,plus one other nite between Feb-April,and get 45,000,plus the actual points awarded for those 2 paid stays?
Or would I need to stay 1 nite in Jan,plus 2 nites Feb-April to qualify?(since the bonus excludes the January stay)
@JM – Do you have the IHG credit card? If you do, two stays (as long as one is in january, both can be in january actually), will get you 45,000 points.
also- terms state business and leisure rates,does this mean no AAA discounts qualify?
@JM – as long as the rate earns points, you are good. AAA is fine.
