An Easy Way to Find Hyatt Points + Cash Availability

While ago, Hyatt introduced a new redemption option – Points + Cash. This means you could use less points plus some cash to get the same “free” night room at a Hyatt hotel. The only caveat is that Points + Cash availability is capacity controlled. This means some hotels do not have to offer this redemption option ever, or can limit it to certain days or months. With regular point reservations, as long as there is a standard room available it is yours.

I must admit, availability can suck. For example, I was searching for the Andaz in Costa Rica and while searching for random dates, I could not find any availability! I was pretty flexible when I could go, but unfortunately Hyatt doesn’t have a monthly view feature which shows all availability. The benefit of using Points + Cash is that Hyatt Suite Upgrades (due to being a Hyatt Diamond member) can be applied to these reservations (unlike full point reservations). This is a huge perk of using Points + Cash.

So instead of wasting me time searching every single day one by one, I reached out Hyatt on Twitter. Within 30 minutes, they were able to fully help me search for availability which was amazing. Their twitter handle is @HyattConcierge and they are available 24/7!

Unfortunately though, their response wasn’t exactly what I was hoping for. But it did save me a ton of time searching for winter dates, which was ideally when I was looking to go. Overall, I’ve had a ton of success Twitter for travel related reasons.

Will the Corp code above allow nights to count toward retaining diamond status?
