Purchase Hilton Points with a 100% Bonus

Through October 21, 2016, you can purchase Hilton Honors points with a 100% bonus. This high of an offer usually comes around once a year so this is a great time to buy if you have a specific destination in mine. Although, you’ll definitely have to do the math to see if purchasing points actually works out in your favor.

screen-shot-2016-10-08-at-10-26-59-pmHilton allows you to purchase up to 80,000 points per account per calendar year. So with this promotion, you can ultimately get up to 160,000 points – you are purchasing points at .5 cents per point.

As previously mentioned, this offer is good for some, but I definitely do not suggest purchasing points speculatively. I suggest checking out to see if the cost of purchasing points for a redemption is cheaper then paying cash at the hotel. You can use this standard room pricing tool to see how many points a particular hotel will cost.

Also remember, if you have Hilton status (those with Silver, Gold, or Diamond status) get the 5th night free on an award redemptions. You can learn more about earning status from this prior blog post – all four Hilton credit cards also give you status as long as you are a cardmember!

I will personally be sitting this one out. I do not have a specific need for Hilton points and I am really not looking to collect more. But for those that have a specific need, enjoy this promotion!
