Typically an Amazon Prime is $99, but today only, they are offering a $20 discount to NEW members only. If you were thinking about signing up for Amazon Prime, now is a good time to do so! Also, if you recently subscribed to Amazon Prime, I highly suggest chatting with them via messenger online to see if they will credit your account the $20. When they’ve offered a discount in the past, many readers emailed me saying they had good luck getting the credit! This is also a great opportunity to get early access for their Black Friday deals. If you are purchasing or already have Amazon, you’ll also want to read my post from yesterday where I listed the best credit card to use to maximize your savings at Amazon.

Unfortunately, this is ONLY valid for those who do not currently have an active Amazon Prime membership.

Purchasing a Membership:

You can purchase a new Amazon Prime Membership here. During checkout you will see the discounted $79 appear. This will give you 365 days of prime subscription which includes free 2-day shipping, instant video streaming, Prime music, kindle books, cloud photo storage, prime pantry, Amazon Mom which will give you 20% off diapers, etc.

Free Trial

If you are not 100% sure if you want to purchase the membership now, you can always sign up for a free trial and decide at a later time. It seems like they offer a discounted membership a few times throughout the year, so this opportunity should surface again.

  • Amazon Prime Trial – free 30 day trial
  • Amazon Mom Trial – free 30 day trial
  • Amazon Student Trial – free 6 month trial! (Amazon Student rates are only $49 everyday, so if you are a student then do not purchase the today only special of $73! – all you need is a .edu email address which anyone can set up at a local community college – with this membership you cannot share it with other people)

Remember, Amazon Prime subscription will automatically renew, so if you are not 100% sure if you’ll want to keep the membership from year to year, make sure to change your settings to NOT auto renew.
