Rakuten just announced their two-day Black Friday sale where you can earn 15% cash back on many of your online shopping purchases. This means, if you are shopping online at all — which most likely you are — you’ll want to make sure to take the extra minute to go to the site first to receive some lucrative cash back in your pocket.

Some of the popular 15% cash back stores include: Finish Line, Walgreens, Game Stop, Adidas, Pet Smart, Land’s End and more.  You’ll even find some stores advertising even more with 16% cash back. These stores include: Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Shoes.com.

They are also offering an increased offer on many other stores, and while you might not earn 15% cash back, you can easily earn 10% to 12% cash back — which is still a great offer. Some of these stores include: Gap (10%), Macy’s (10%), Bloomingdales (10%), Ulta Beauty (10%) and more.

Not only will you earn an increased amount of cash back, if you are new to Rakuten, you can earn a whopping $40 simply by using the site within the first 90 days of signing up. This is the highest bonus offer you’ll ever seen from this site, which makes using this site for your first purchase — at the bare minimum — well worth it.

Once you are a member, you can then continue to share the site with friends and family and you’ll receive a referral bonus. Learn more about the sign up offer here.

What is an online shopping portal?

Now, for those of you who have no idea what an online shopping portal is, here is my quick explanation:

It is an online website that you go to first when you are looking to purchase an item online. From the shopping portal, you’ll search for the desired store you are looking to make the purchase at (i.e., Gap, Macy’s, REI, 1-800-FLOWERS, etc.) and you will then be taken directly to the merchants website.

You’ll then continue to shop at that merchant the same exact way as if you went to the site first. Your purchase is tracked in the background and you’ll then earn points, miles or cash back (depending on the site used) for your purchase. There is absolutely no reason not to earn these extra points/miles or free money! It literally takes an extra minute of your time.

Overall

So if you shopping online at all in the next few days, make sure to go through an online shopping portal. While Rakuten, is offering a nice payout at many online merchants, make sure to compare the cash back you’ll receive against some other cash back sites, such as TopCashBack, RebatesMe and Mr. Rebates. You can even use the cash back aggregator cashbackmonitor.com and evrewards.com to compare the cash back — or points and miles, if you prefer — between all of the sites.
