If you are seeking airline status — specifically for United Airlines — now is the time to act. Everyone, and I mean everyone, is eligible for 120 days of United Premier Silver status simply by being a Bilt Rewards members. And fortunately, creating a Bilt Rewards account is completely free.
With this promotion, you’ll also have the option to extend your new status through Jan. 31, 2024. Within the 120 days, you’ll need to earn the following:
- Premier Silver:Â 1,000 Premier qualifying points and 4 Premier qualifying points
- Premier Gold:Â 2,000 Premier qualifying points and 6 Premier qualifying points
To enroll in this complimentary United status challenge, you’ll need to first sign up to be a Bilt Rewards member. The Bilt Rewards program allows you to earn points on paying your rent to select landlords. There’s also the Bilt Rewards credit card which allows everyone to earn points for free on rent payments, regardless of the landlord.
You’ll want to fill out the required information to sign up for an account. You DO NOT need to be a credit card member to earn the free United challenge, so make sure to untick the box asking if you want a credit card. Or, alternatively, if you are interested in the credit card, you can sign up here.
Once you create an account, you’ll then need to download the Bilt Rewards app. In the app, you’ll be able to select ‘Unlock United Airlines Premier status’. Enter your United MileagePlus account information and you are enrolled.
Just be mindful that it could take up to three weeks for the status challenge to actually begin. You also need to make sure to sign up by Nov. 1, 2022 — today!
This is also in addition to rent day, which takes place the first of every month, i.e., also today. With rent day, you’ll earn double points on almost all purchases with your Bilt Rewards credit card (up to 10,000 points), although rent payments are excluded. This means you’ll earn 6x points on dining, 4x points on travel and 2x points on all other purchases. And remember, all points transfer to a slew of travel partners at a 1-to-1 transfer ratio.

If you are not yet a Bilt Rewards member, now is the time to sign up. Membership is completely free and separate from the credit card. And if you’re looking to becoming a Bilt Rewards credit card, there’s no annual fee, you can pay your rent on your credit card — for free — and there are many member benefits, such as travel protection, cell phone protection for free. But for now, enjoy your complimentary United elite status.
