American Airline is offering a decent bonus for flights from JFK to/from LAX between January 7 and March 31, 2014.
While you can get 15,000 bonus miles for a first/business class ticket, my assumption is most of you are flying economy class if it is a paid fare. For these flights you will get 5,000 bonus miles roundtrip as long as your ticket is not booked in O and Q (which are two of the deep discount fare booking classes). Per the terms, a roundtrip flight is not required, and a one-way flight will be awarded 2,500 bonus miles.
This promotion is to celebrate the launch of the new A321T flight between JFK and LAX. This aircraft has three-classes and will ultimately have 13 daily flights by summer 2014. This same aircraft is also slotted to service JFK to SFO beginning in March.
You MUST register prior to travel.

Hi Ms Travel Guru,
I’d appreciate greatly if you could help me with this question…
I’m trying to use a bunch of Alaska miles to travel from SIN-MCO-SIN (in first class) early next year, could you suggest which is my best available airline/s option?
Based on my research, British Airways seems the most direct, SIN-LONDON-MCO but I read that it is next to impossible to book a first class seat on BA, much less 2.
Do you think flying Cathay Pacific would be my best option because I read it is not that hard to snag 1 seat in their first class cabin from SIN-LAX but that would still leave me “stranded” from LAX-MCO-LAX. 🙁
