These posts include everything you need to know about the Southwest Rapid Rewards program. As of today, Southwest has a fixed earning and redemption program, however Southwest states that changes will take place on April 17, 2015 and is being very vague. They state this will take place on the redemption side where some flights might require more points than the standard $1 = 70 points.
These individual posts make up an entire series on the Southwest Rapid Rewards loyalty program.
- Southwest Rapid Reward Credit Card
- Earning and Redeeming Southwest Rapid Reward Points
- Earning Status with Southwest and the Benefits
- Changing and Canceling a Southwest Ticket
- Earning the Southwest Companion Pass
- Transferring Points to Southwest
- Booking Southwest Flights with Chase Ultimate Reward Points
- Canceling a Flight Booked with Points
- Changing a Flight if Booked as a Roundtrip
- Getting Money Back if the Flight Goes Down in Price
There is also an affiliated Southwest co-branded credit card by Chase that typically fluctuates between 25,000 and 50,000 points after meeting the minimum spend requirements at the time within three months. There are three credit cards and while they all typically have the same publicly available offer, you can sometimes find a link available for the increased offer. The increased offer is usually available 3-4 times a year so I suggest waiting for this offer to come available if you are not a rush.
Also, the posts above are dedicated to the loyalty program and flying Southwest, while next week I will have a series available focusing on the Southwest Rapid Rewards companion pass. Let me know if you have any additional questions not answered in one of the 9 posts above. Happy reading!

I recently applied for and was approved for a SWA Premier card, I would like to get another for the bonus. Would it be better to apply for the other personal card or the business card. I am in the process of getting a consultant business off the ground. Excellent credit. Is it best to wait a week or so or just do it.
Thanks
@Gary – It doesn’t really matter which one you apply for. Also, in my experience it hasn’t mattered if you wait or not.
