The hotel booking site Rocketmiles is offering a pretty sweet deal for the first 100 NEW members that book a hotel through June 9, 2017. With this third-party reservation site, you will not earn your traditional hotel points for your hotel stay, but will instead receive airline miles or another merchants gift card depending on the offer you select. For this particular promotion, you must opt to earn an Amazon gift card as your kick back for booking with them. This is a great site to use if you are looking to to stay at a non-chain hotel where you wouldn’t earn your traditional hotel points anyways.
With this promotion, you’ll receive a $50 Amazon gift card IN ADDITION TO the normal Amazon gift card you receive at the particular hotel you are booking at. The normal gift card ranges anywhere between $10 and $100 and somewhat correlates to the price of the hotel reservation, This can be an extremely lucrative promotion and reduce the cost of a hotel stay be a lot! Remember though, this is limited to the first 100 customers that book through this promotion and for new accounts only. The one thing I do not like about this promotion is that you will not know whether or not you are one of the first 100 customers until 2 days AFTER you book your hotel. You can always reach out to Rocketmiles via social media to see if they’ve reached their limit. My guess is that since this promotion just launched yesterday, you are still able to take part. You can check out this deal and search all participating properties here.
I ran a random search on a Sunday night in July for New York City. I saw two relatively inexpensive hotels pop up where you can also receive a pretty decent Amazon gift card as well. The Wyndham New Yorker Hotel will cost you $152 for the night, but you’ll also receive a $40 Amazon gift cards AS WELL AS the $50 bonus Amazon gift card! That means $90 to Amazon for a $152/night hotel room! If you typically shop at Amazon and would be spending the money there anyways, you can think of this hotel night costing you only $62 (plus tax of course).
My Experience with Rocketmiles
A few years ago, I needed to book a hotel room up in Stowe, Vermont and did not have the option of staying wherever I wanted to as I was going with a big group. We stayed at the Stowe Mountain Lodge which was $299/night. Not a cheap stay by any means, but by booking through Rocketmiles I was able to save some money since there was an Amex Offer at the time as well! I also opted for British Airways miles where I earned 3,000 points which I valued at $75 at the time.
Overall…
If you are looking to book a hotel room within the next 36 hours, I highly suggest checking out Rocketmiles to see if you’ll be able to get a good deal compared to booking with the hotel directly. Typically, I find non-hotel chains to offer a better value since getting a “deal” at these properties are slightly harder.

Is there a minimum. I am seeing a travel lodge near Atlantic City for $50 with $10 gift card. If you are also getting a $50 gift card you could make money? Some in the Orlando area look that way too.
@Mark – I do not see anything in the terms about a minimum. Although, doesn’t mean there isn’t one.
