Between July 16-17 you’ll be able to snag many deals during the yearly Amazon Prime Day event.

What is Amazon Prime Day

Amazon Prime Day is a yearly two-day event where you’ll see different daily or flash discounts on many popular items. Many offers continuously pop up and while some deals will last all day, many will quickly sell out.

To take advantage of many of the discounts you’ll need to be an Amazon Prime member. If you don’t have a Prime Membership, you can sign up for a free trial which will give you 30 days of free prime access. After the free trial expires, you’ll be charged $139 for the year or $14.99 per month — you’re choice (or you can cancel before the free trial expires).

Amazon Prime Day deals

While this isn’t an inclusive list of every single deal you’ll find (as there are thousands of them), here’s a great starting point:

If you are specifically looking for an Apple product, here’s a list of many of the deals to be found:

One of the savings is on Amazon’s own devices. You can shop all of the Amazon device deals here, but some of the better ones include:

Amazon Prime Day gift card deals

Over the next 48-hours, there’s also many opportunities to purchase third-party merchant gift cards from Amazon on sale — up to 20% off. Some will be available the entire time (unless they sell out), while others are lightening deals, which means you’ll have to snag them quickly during the set time period. There’s also some where you’ll pay full price, but receive a promotional credit towards a future credit. You can check out all Amazon Prime Day gift card deals here, but here’s a sampling of the deals:

  • DoorDash: $100 gift card and receive a $20 Amazon promotional credit (promo code DASH)
  • UBER: $100 gift card and receive a $10 Amazon promotional credit (promo code UBERUSPD)
  • Best Buy$100 gift card for $90 (promo code BESTBUY)
  • Lyft: $100 gift card and receive a $20 Amazon promotional credit (promo code LYFTPD)
  • Bath & Body Works: $50 gift card for $40 (promo code BATHPD)

Stack your savings with Amex

Right now, if you are an American Express Membership Rewards members, there’s a great way to stack your savings.

First, you’ll want to make sure to link your American Express card to your Amazon account. You’ll then need to Activate the offer in your Amazon account. There are many different targeted offers available, but ultimately you can get 50% off your order(s), up to a $75 in savings. (You might also find that you aren’t targeted at all).

To receive the savings, on the payment page, you’ll need to select your linked Amex Membership Reward credit card. You’ll then need to apply a single point to redeem towards the purchase (although some offers require 714 points to be applied, so make sure to read the qualifications). You do not want to use more points than required as it’s not a good redemption on your Amex points.

On the checkout page, you’ll see the point(s) applied and the additional savings. No promotion code needed! Check to see your targeted offer.
