For awhile now, Amazon Prime was offering a $1 Instant Video credit if you selected the “No Rush” shipping option when placing your Amazon order. Well, it looks like that offer has changed and instead of receiving the Video credit you’ll now earn a $5.99 credit towards a Prime Pantry Box order. Great for those that use Prime Pantry, not great for those that fully utilized the video credit!

Amazon Prime Pantry costs $5.99 shipping, so essentially this credit covers that cost so you can think of it as free shipping. And you can only use one credit per pantry order and unfortunately it is only available to those in the US (excluding Hawaii and Alaska). All credit earned expires May 31, 2015.

What exactly is “No Rush Shipping?” It is essentially an option where you will be quoted a longer ship time (typically 5-7 days) to receive the item you are purchasing. Typically with Amazon Prime you will receive the item within 2-days. The incentive is that if you select the no rush shipping option you’ll receive something in return, i.e., the $5.99 credit towards Amazon Prime Pantry. This is a great option to use if a) you can benefit from the promotion, and b) if you do not need the order immediately.

What exactly is Prime Pantry? This option is only available for Amazon Prime members and allows you to purchase “lower-priced” grocery, household, and pet products in one order for a flat $5.99 fee. There is a maximum size and weight of your total order and is tracked as you add items to your cart. You can search for all eligible items in the Prime Pantry store.

Personally, I have never used Prime Pantry it, so I am not sure if these items are in fact cheaper or not, but I am definitely going to check it out. Feel free to comment below with your experience!

how long does the $5.99 take to show on my account and how do I know it was added? I would like to use it with the free shipping for August!
