Today Only, Amazon is offering their Amazon Tap at $79.99! This is $50 off the normal price and the same price they had during Amazon Prime Day. Amazon Tap is an Alexa-Enabled Portable Bluetooth Speaker – very similar to the Echo, just portable (and less expensive!). There have also been some promotions in the past where if you placed an order through your Amazon Alexa device (Echo, Tap) you’d receive a discount.
I personally have Google Home, my husband works for Google so we have to stay loyal! So while I cannot speak much about Amazon Tap (or the Echo), I do know people that have it and really enjoy it. This newer version of the Tap is also hands free so you do not actually need to “tap” the device to speak to it. It can serve as somewhat of a personal assistant – ask Alexa the weather, ask them to play you a song, order you food, and even place Amazon orders!
You Can Save Even More Money!
Awhile ago I wrote about an offer where American Express Membership Reward credit card holders can get $25 off a $50+ purchase. This is a targeted offer, but to get the discount to apply, all you have to do is use 1 Amex point towards your purchase! Just use the promotion code AMEX17EVER at checkout.
Steps to take advantage:
- Link your American Express card to your Amazon account here.
- Shop for the Amazon Tap here. Or if you’d prefer to shop of any Amazon item, or even merchant gift cards work!
- On the payment page, select your linked Membership Rewards earning credit card. At the bottom of the payment page you’ll see all your linked accounts where you can use points (Chase and Amex). Select your American Express Membership Rewards Points account and enter the number of points you want to use towards your purchase. Since I do not like redeeming my points at Amazon (due to the low redemption value), I entered just 1 cent which means 1 point will be applied. For the promotion to apply, the minimum amount required is only 1 point! Do not do full points as it is not a good value!
Enjoy your discounted Amazon Tap!
