If you like free money, have an American Express credit card, and happen to be in Houston, Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Philadelphia, or Sacramento in the month of August, this promotion is for you!
American Express is expanding on their supporting small business movement (which in the past has always been the Saturday after Thanksgiving) is giving Amex card members a $5 statement credit for a $5+ purchase at a participating small business. You can take advantage of this card up to three times per American Express credit card – so $15 per card!
While you cannot yet register for the promotion yet, there is a “Coming Soon” page that includes some of the details.
This promotion will run through the month of August and is limited to small business located in the metro areas of Houston, Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Philadelphia, and Sacramento.
And like all other Amex statement credit promotions, corporate cards and prepaid cards are not eligible but all other American Express cards can be registered – another great advantage of an American Express points/miles earning credit card. This includes (just to list a few), Starwood American Express, Hilton American Express, Costco American Express, Bloomingdales American Express, Macy’s American Express, American Express Gold Rewards Card, American Express Platinum Card, Citi AAdvantage American Express, etc. The business versions of these cards also qualify. If you have added authorized users, those cards are also eligible and are separate from the primary card. This, however, does not work for secondary cards that have the same account number which is typically the case for the Citi American Express cards.
I am sure there will be opportunities as well for those who do not live in those cities to take advantage through phone orders to certain stores. Time will tell. I will be sure to post again when registration is live. Enjoy!
Thanks to Mommy Points for sharing this promotion!
