Amtrak just announced a new promotion where if you take three roundtrip trips in the Northeast between January 2 and February 28, you’ll earn one free roundtrip to use this summer between July 3 and August 30.
The terms are pretty straight forward, and actually instead of three roundtrips it can be six one-way trips. This is valid for the Acela or Regional train, but it must be 6 one-ways (3 roundtrips) of the same train type. If you qualify for the Acela offer, you’ll receive a free Acela Business class ticket and if you qualify for the Regional offer, you’ll receive a free Northeast Regional ticket. Both free tickets are for two-one ways so you can use them as you like. The only restriction to the promotion is that the qualifying trip must be at least $49 for the Northeast Regional train and $90 for the Acela train. A maximum of four free one-way trips can be earned (per promotion).
Make sure to register PRIOR to travel:
And yes, you must register for each individual promotion to take advantage! While I wouldn’t go out of my way to earn these free train rides, if you already have upcoming travel, this is a great promotion! Enjoy your free train rides!
