Another Update for the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card

UPDATE: This was a short lived offer and the minimum spend has gone back up to $3,000. However, I’ve been told that the $2,000 minimum spend will be back in a few weeks, so stay tuned!

This past Monday I communicated that the current sign up bonus for the Chase Sapphire Preferred card was enhancing slightly with the minimum spend needed to earn the 40,000 bonus points decreasing from $3,000 in 3 months to $2,000 in 3 months. Not a huge change, but definitely much more obtainable for some folks.

Well, I just found out that this short lived offer is being pulled this afternoon and the minimum spend is going back up to $3,000. However, I was also told that this will only be short term (1-2 weeks) and then the offer will be back to the $2,000 spend in 3 months again (remember, this is what I told though so I cannot promise anything).

So, if you were hoping to get in on this card offer with the $2,000 spend, I’d suggest you start considering it. I was told it will be pulled this afternoon, but I’ve also learned that nothing is ever definite. Not sure why Chase keeps changing this offer!

Also, if you applied for this card prior to the decrease in spend, I’ve read that many have been able to send a secure message and get the minimum spend decrease matched. Just make sure to do it now before the offer is pulled.

– rep noted the 40K for 2K spend in 3 months offer
everything seemed ok- card should arrive in 3-5 bus days

I hope the $2000 will be honored for those applied during this “window.”
