JetBlue just a launched an new promotion where if you book a flight now, you’ll receive a coupon for 20% off a future flight. While the promotion looks great on the surface, there are a decent amount of restrictions!

First off, you must book a flight through August 8, 2018 for travel through August 31, 2018. So off the bat this is only beneficial for those looking to book a last minute trip. Then, you’ll receive the promotional certificate by September 20, 2018. Once you receive your 20% off coupon code you can then book your future flight but you must fly between September 25 and October 31, 2018. Again, the 20% off coupon code can only be used for last minute flights. If you know you are booking a flight during that time frame, you are probably better off booking now then waiting last minute even with the 20% off taken into consideration!

And of course there are even a few more restrictions. There are blackout dates of 10/6-10/8 and cannot be used for Friday or Sunday departures or returns! So if you think about it, there really are only 25 days that you even use the coupon code.

This is definitely a great promotion in theory, but not so practical. If you know you are taking a flight during the month of August, you might as well book by August 8th just to get the coupon code in case you have a use for it. Doesn’t hurt to have a 20% off coupon in your back pocket for any last minute needs.
