While there has been ZERO official notice on this, rumors report that today might be the last day to apply for the Chase Ink Plus. This is due to a new Chase business card being launched tomorrow, called the Chase Ink Preferred credit card. This new card is set to replace the existing Chase Ink Plus card.
Currently, the Chase Ink Plus card is offering a sign up bonus of 60,000 points after you spend $5,000 on the card within the first three months. The new Chase Ink Preferred will have an 80,000 point sign up bonus. Keep in mind though, IF you are able to sign up for Chase credit cards and are not affected by the “5/24” rule, you should be able to apply and get the sign up bonus for BOTH cards.
The key difference between the cards is that the Chase Ink Plus offers 5x points at office supply stores and on cellular phone, landline, internet and cable TV services. The card also offers 2x points at gas stations and hotels. The Chase Ink Preferred will offer 3x points on all travel, telecommunications, shipping and advertising on social-media and search engines purchases.
Overall, the Chase Ink Plus is an amazing card especially for those that like to purchase gift cards at office supply stores and have high phone/tv bills. If you do not yet have this card, it is one of my highly suggested cards to have in your wallet. It also carries an extremely high sign up bonus.
Sorry for the short notice, but I was stuck on a 9 hour road trip! I’ll be sure to report more on both cards tomorrow if the rumors stay true.
