If you are located close to Atlanta or Dallas, these are great fares to Honolulu. But if your intent is to go to one of the smaller islands check out to see the cost to fly directly to/from the other island. For example, on the exact same date I was able to find a flight on US Airways for about $220 more to fly to Kauai with one layover in PHX. If you take into account the $50+ it will cost to fly from Honolulu to Kauai, for example, both ways you are really only saving yourself about $100 by flying into HNL. I personally would prefer to take one less flight and pay an extra $100. Although, for a family traveling, $100 per passenger can add up!
Will you be taking advantage of these cheap fares? Remember, American allows you to put a flight on hold for 24 hours and with United you can cancel and get a full refund as long as it is within 24 hours of booking the flight.
