Compiled List of Credit Card Spending Bonuses

Over the past few weeks I’ve written about a few different offers where Chase card members can earn bonus point by spending a certain amount on their credit card over the next few months. These are specifically for some of their co-branded hotel and airline credit cards. Here is a compiled list of these offers, at least the ones I am aware of!

Hyatt Credit Card Spend Offer – Earn up to $4,000 Bonus Points

The Hyatt credit card spend offer is giving me 4,000 points after I spend $4,000 on the card. This is actually a great offer, in my opinion. I value Hyatt points very high with at least a 2 cents per point valuation. This means the 4,000 bonus points is like an extra $80 during that time period. The offer runs between April 1 and June 30, 2017, so you only have 3 months to spend the money. This is a lot of money to spend in a 3 month time period, but if you were going to be spending the money anyways, you might want to consider putting it on this card. Just make sure that the points earned outweigh the points you’d earn on another card.

IHG Credit Card Spend Offer – Earn up to 3,000 Bonus Points

With the IHG credit card spend offer, you can earn 600 bonus points every month between April 1 and August 31, 2107. That means you have 5 opportunities to earn the points for a total of 3,000 bonus points. You must spend $750 on your card per month. This is not a great offer in my opinion as I value IHG points extremely low, at about .55 cents per point. This means the 600 points per month is worth about $3.30, giving you a total of $16.50 in points. While the spend is lower then the Hyatt offer, the points are significantly lower. The only reason to take advantage of this offer is if you stay at IHG hotels often and pay with your stay with your IHG credit card.

Southwest Credit Card Spend Offer – Earn up to 1,500 Bonus Points

For the next 5 months, for every month that you spend $500 or more on your Southwest credit card, you’ll earn 300 bonus points. That gives you the opportunity to earn up to 1,500 extra points worth about $22. This promotion is for purchases made between April 1, 2017 and August 31, 2017. You’ll need to check your email to see if you received the offer. The subject line read: “Activate now to earn up to 1,500 Rapid Rewards points.”

If you use your Southwest credit card anyways for everyday purchases, this is a great way to slightly increase your point balance. Unfortunately, the bonus points you earn will not count towards your companion pass.

Overall…

There is a good chance I’ll take advantage of the Hyatt offer, but definitely not the IHG offer and most likely not the Southwest offer. I am still trying to meet minimum spend requirements on another card so will have a hard time shifting spend from that card over to the Hyatt card for right now.

Keep in mind that many of the bonus offers require you to register, so make sure to do that first. You can search your emails to see if you received any sort of promotion. Anyone else receive any other credit card spend offer?
