While this is probably common sense for most – to take advantage of the Amex Offers you must have an American Express credit card! These Amex Offers give you a statement credit when making a purchase at a participating merchants. While the statement credit amount varies per merchant, they typically equal out to be about a 20% credit on your purchase. I personally like to think of these statement credits as free money as many times they are on purchases I would have made already. These cards are also eligible to enroll in Small Business Saturday (which takes place the Saturday after Thanksgiving).
The beauty of the Amex Offers is that for many of the offers you can take advantage as many times as American Express credit cards you have. For the ones that are targeted, you are limited to the number of cards that were targeted for the particular offer. Since many American Express credit cards have no annual fee, you literally can make money just by being a cardmember. Even for the low annual fee cards, many times you can “make more” in the statement credits than the cost of the card. Keep in mind as well that many cards allow free authorized users (although not all, so see below) and those authorized users can take advantage of the Amex Offers separately from the primary card member.
The two primary ways to register for the Amex Offers is through Twitter and your AmericanExpress.com account. While ALL cards can be registered for the promotion with Twitter, not all of them are available on your AmericanExpress.com account. The cards not available on your AmericanExpress.com account are the ones licensed by a third-party financial institution but still have the American Express logo. I have listed all the eligible cards below and have separated them into different groups:

Cards that are not eligible for registration include: American Express prepaid cards, American Express Gift Cards, Corporate cards, authorized user cards on cards with the American Express logo but issued by a third-party financial institution (i.e., the ones you will not see on your AmericanExpress.com account), and Target REDCard.
Caution with authorized users: While adding authorized users to your cards is legal and will trigger the statement credit (for those eligible cards), adding many authorized credits could raise a red flag for a financial review. I’ve personally never been through a financial review, but from what I have read it is an annoying process. If you have nothing to hide then it is just paper work and you are good to go.
There are probably a few co-branded Amex cards that have been left out, so feel free to let me know and I’ll add them to the list. If your experience differs from what I have listed above, please let me know as well as I clearly do not have all of these Amex cards to try them out myself!
You can find many of the credit cards listed above and their respective sign up bonus here. Let me know if you have any questions!

I don’t think it works by fidelity
@berach – do you have the fidelity card? thanks for letting me know!
I have the SABADELL AMERICAN EXPRESS® SILVER CARD, but have not tried a Twitter sync yet.
I have successfully used Wells Fargo world propel card for Twitter offers
@berach. I have the fidelity amex and used it on small business Saturday. The credits did not automatically post (I had three $10) so I called fidelity and they gave me the credits after I explained the situation. They were very nice and it only took a few minutes of my time.
@deals. Love your site and tips. Keep up the great work. I appreciate and maximize amex offers thanks to you!!!!
I am unclear how you would apply for the Macy’s American Express® Card on twitter. Can you explain?
@Jill – You do not apply for the Macys credit card through Twitter. If you have the card (or apply for the card at a Macys store or through the Macy’s website) you can then sync your card to Twitter to take advantage of the Amex Offers that give you a statement credit if you spend a certain amount at participating merchants.
Serve also has access to Sync deals through the Serve mobile app.
Do we know how to get offers added to Fidelity AMEX card, I linked my account at twitter and tweeted smart-final offer, but there is no way to verify if offer is added to my fidelity AMEX card.
How do I make sure that the offer is added ?
@Netguru – Did you get a confirmation back from the @AmexOffers handle in twitter?
Just a quick question regarding e.g Amex Macy’s Card, does it allow people to add additional users to cards like BCE/BCP/SPG cards? And what will be the # limit for that?
@Lei – I am not sure, but I am actually going to try it out myself this week. It has been on my to-do list so I’ll make it a priority this week.
Do I have to have a different twitter account for each AMEX card? Also, if I have authorized users on a card, are you saying that they can enjoy the AMEX offers and so can I (i.e. twice)?
@Sab – Yes, you need different Twitter accounts. Yes, authorized users can enjoy the Amex offers if you sync them up with a Twitter account (not valid for Citi Amex cards though).
Are these Amex offers available to Canadian Amex cardholders?
@Rad – You’ll need to sign into your AmericanExpress.com account and see if there are any offers listed.
