Today’s Daily Getaway promotion includes the opportunity to purchase Wyndham Reward points at a discount. Similar to the same offer we’ve seen in the past few years, you can purchase 15,000 Wyndham Reward points for $175. While this can definitely be a great deal at some properties, this is by no means as good as it used to be due to the resent Wyndham devaluation.

Deal or No Deal?

With Wyndham’s new award chart, 15,000 Wyndham Reward points will earn you enough points to stay for two nights free at a Tier 1 property, one night for free at a Tier 2 property, or half the number of nights needed for a one-night stay at a Tier 3 property.

  • 7,500 points a night — Tier 1
  • 15,000 points a night — Tier 2
  • 30,000 points a night — Tier 3

Although there are only 200 Wyndham properties in that Tier 3 level, they are by far the most aspirational hotels. Most likely, this Daily Getaway offer is not ideal if you are looking at a Tier 3 property costing 30k points a night.

Although, for those gem Tier 2 properties, this definitely could be a great deal. For example, you can stay at a handful of properties in Newport, Rhode Island (both in town or on the beach), for just 15k a night. To spend just $175 a night for peak summer dates in this vacation destination is quite ideal.

Also, almost all of their Wyndham Vacation Club properties as well as their home and condo partnership properties stayed at the 15,000 point a night per bedroom level. The great thing about this redemption is that even 1-bedroom suites cost the same 15k points. Again, at just $175 a night this can be a great deal.

Overall…

This is one of those promotions where I highly suggest doing the math to see if an upcoming stay is less expensive by purchasing points vs. paying the lowest available price. I absolutely would not purchase Wyndham Reward points without a specific redemption in mind. It is also good to know that Wyndham Reward points expire 4 years after they are earned, regardless if your account is kept active or not. There is no way to extend those points.

This promotion will go on sale promptly at 1pm ET. Since there are over 1,000 quantities available, I do not foresee these selling out right away. Although I do believe they will eventually sell out within a day or two. You can purchase two packages per account/credit card. You can purchase this Daily Getaway package here.

I personally will not be purchasing Wyndham Reward points, even though I was absolutely a buyer in the past! Will you be purchasing these points?
