Delta Airlines has sent out targeted offers to help passengers qualify for 2012 Platinum Medallion status after three round-trip domestic flights or two round-trip international flights by December 31, 2011 (paid fares only).
Delta has four status levels (Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond). To obtain Platinumstatus with only three round-trips (which usually takes 75,000 MQMs or 100 Qualification Segments) is a great offer. Unfortunately, this is a targeted promotion and you will need to register to see if you qualify. Only flights after registering will count towards this challenge.
Unfortunately, I was not able to register for this promotion. Let me know if you qualify!

For some reason the link to register in the post did not work for me. After a bit of sleuthing I came up with this one: http://dmn.delta.com/ace_offers/earlyplatinum/
Looking at the terms, it would appear Delta credit card holders may be eligible. I wonder if it is as simple as that? If any Delta credit card holders can confirm their eligibility, that would be awesome!
@Ryan: I have updated the link in the post. I now realized I linked to the URL after I tried applying and it changes the URL.
Can anyone else confirm if they were able to eligable and if they have a Delta credit card? Thanks!
Alas, I have a Delta credit card, am Platinum this year, and could not register for this promotion. It sure would have made it easier getting to 75,000 medallion points.
I was not able to register myself, but my wife was eligible and she is now signed up.
Mark – do you know why or how your wife was eligible? Does she currently have a credit card or medallion status? Thanks for any info you may have.
This is considered a “challenge,” right? How often does Delta allow challenges? I ask, because I’m tempted to sign up, but I may not fly DL much next year and would rather save my “challenge” for when I need it, if indeed this will count as one and preclude me from getting another one ever or anytime soon…
@A. S.- This is a targeted offer where there is no specific criteria on who is eligible. This is not something that is always offered. There is no telling if you will be eligible the next time Delta offers a similar promotion. This is differed than American Airlines promotion where you can select at any point when you want to go partake in their challenge. I coined this promotion as a challenge.
DL Silver with DL AmEx Platinum. Not able to register.
I was able to register as a DL Gold with no DL AmEx cards. Been traveling more than usual this year and might have hit PL anyway.
