For all Amtrak train rides September 8 through November 14, 2014, you will get double points! This is for any route, no exclusions! You must register for this promotion. The terms do not state whether registration must be done by travel date or not, but I’d suggest just doing it now.
Typically you earn 2 points per $1 spent on Amtrak travel, so with this promotion you’ll earn 4 points per $1. There is also a 100 point minimum you’ll earn each trip (one-way) regardless of the price.
For Acela Business class trips you’ll earn a flat 500 points, so with this promotion you’ll earn 1,000 points. If you travel first class you’ll earn 1,500 points with this promotion instead of the normal 750 points. points.
