Via Mommy Point, American Express Gold credit card members can earn 10,000 points per month for making 15 transactions per statement cycle. This promotion runs from July thru November 2011 with a 50,000 point maximum. Some representatives have indicated that there is no specific end date, but we shall see.
Keep in mind that this promotion might be targeted. To be eligible you must have either a) received the offer in the mail and registered, or b) call American Express (1-800-AXP-EARN) and ask for offer code 6664 to be applied to your account (if the representative won’t do it, try hanging up and calling again).
Remember, make sure to call immediately as there is no telling how long they will apply the offer to your account if you were not targeted.
I also posted yesterday that many American Express Gold new card applicants have been able to call American Express and get the bump to the 75,000 bonus offer. If you are willing to take the risk (which I believe is minimal), you will be able to get the 75,000 points, plus an additional 40,000 points if you are able to register for this promotion as well. 115,000 Membership Reward points is an unbelievable offer!
Update: Reports are showing that this is for the American Express Premier Rewards Gold card who opened their account after July 1st. Again, you may or may not have the same success, but it is definitely worth a phone call!

I was able to get 6664 applied to my account. However, I clarified with the CSR that 15 transaction is per statement cycle, not calendar month.
@Simon and Kelly – not surprised to see conflicting information coming from Membership Rewards. They seem to be all over the place today with misguiding info. Anyone else been able to apply this promotion code and have an answer to this? I do not have the Gold card so have not spoken to AMEX directly.
On my…just spent 30 minutes on the phone with a CSR. She said it was CALENDAR not statement!!! Wow…this is so confusing. My bill runs on the 10th and since I only have 2 months to rack up transactions (i got the card 3 months ago) I really need to know if that is from 8/1-8/31 and 9/1 – 9/30. She said everything with Membership Rewards is always calendar month, which is why the rep told me I had till October 1st to earn this…
I called Amex and the rep told me that there is NO expiration date on this, just the 50K max. And it is based on billing cycle, not calendar month. With so much conflicting information, I’m not sure what the correct info is, and whether there IS an expiration date?
Also, the rep said that online purchases don’t count as part of the 15 transactions. So make sure you are physically swiping the card for the transactions.
@Jenny – thanks for the information. It is so discouraging that each rep is giving conflicting info! I would just made sure to have 15 swipes each month and billing period. For purchasing groceries just complete a different transaction per item (just make sure you are not in a long line!).
