American Airlines and Avis just teamed up with a pretty nice promotion where you can earn up to 3,000 miles for renting a car. Of course, the more days you rent, the more miles you earn. So with a two day rental, you’ll earn 750 miles, a 3 day rental 1,500 miles, and a 5 day rental will earn you a sweet 3,000 miles!

Avis and American Airline promotion To get the miles you must use coupon code MUAA077. When using a miles bonus specific coupon code, you cannot apply other free day or free upgrade coupons so make sure to take that into consideration when comparing pricing. I personally value the 3,000 miles at about $50.

Also remember, when renting from Avis, you only earn partner miles/points at participating rental locations. These are airport locations only, so an off-site rental won’t earn you any bonus miles unfortunately.

This promotion goes through December 31, 2014 and you can try using AWD number K817186 to see if you can get a better daily rental rate. I also suggest googling “AVIS AWD code” to see if you can find a better rate. To get the bonus miles, you only need to use the coupon code number, not the AWD number provided.
