I just came across an awesome Southwest offer where if you opt in to receive their Rapid Rewards Email Updates you’ll earn 6,000 Southwest points – worth $90 in Southwest travel! In all my years writing this blog, this might be the quickest and easiest way to earn points, not to mention it is absolutely free! All you have to do register for the emails by September 30, 2018. Unfortunately though this does seem to be an exclusive offer, so you’ll have to check your account to see if you are eligible. My mom was targeted for this offer, but neither my dad nor myself are eligible.
To enroll in the reports, go to the promotions page within your Southwest Rapid Rewards account to see if you see any promotions available to you. If you see the above promotion, you’ll see to sign up for the Rapid Rewards Email Updates here and then register for the promotion in your account.
You’ll then earn 3,000 bonus Southwest Rapid Reward points after receiving the Southwest emails for three months and then another 3,000 points after receiving the emails for an additional three months – six months in total. You also must also open one email every 60 days to receive the points. You’ll then receive the points within 8 weeks after the 3 and 6 month mark. This will definitely take some time to earn the points, so I wouldn’t bank on the points to use for a free trip right away, but definitely a nice surprise bonus that will eventually be added to your account. The terms also state you must have an open Southwest credit card. I am assuming only Southwest credit card holders are eligible (although not all since I have their card), but if you cancel it I assume you’ll no longer be eligible for the bonus points.

None of the 3 accounts in my family have this offer. I’m assuming this is for people who are not already receiving RR e-mail updates, which most of your readers are already registered for.
I found the spot to sign up for the RR email updates but did not find any place on site to sign up for the Promotion (your Step #2). Thanks for any suggestions.
I’m not seeing anything called “Promotions” on the Southwest log-in page.
I do see “Special Offers”, is that the link to click? Unfortunately, it does not lead to the desired 6000-point offer for either of our two family accounts.
If you’re on the Southwest Airlines home page, to locate “Promotions”, click on “Rapid Rewards” near the top right of the page. You’ll see a drop down box, and under “Manage” you’ll see “Promotions.” Click on that and you’ll be taken to the promotions page that is a subset of the Rapid Rewards part of the site. And no, I didn’t get the offer either. 🙁
I would like to mention here – because it concerns Southwest – that I live in Singapore and for the last couple of years (maybe even three) we have not been able to access the Southwest Airlines website. At one point I could access Southwest from the mobile app – but even that has been stopped.
I have been in contact with Southwest for the past almost two years complaining about this – this just keep telling me to be patient!! How patient can one be!! It is over two years that they know about the problem but seem unable to fix it.
I would love any/all suggestions as to how to either access SW or to get them to take this seriously enough to actually fix it. Sorry to put this comment on this site – but I’m totally frustrated!
Thanks
@Shernaz, would a VPN solve the problem, by causing the Southwest website to think you were in the U.S.?
I had thought about it, but never tried. We don’t always get clear access to a VPN in Singapore – pretty spotty most of the times.
