Last week, ScoreBig.com launched a partnership with Southwest Airlines where you can earn Southwest Rapid Reward points for every event ticket you purchase. You can earn anywhere between 3 and 22 points per dollar spent on purchases, plus an additional 1,000 bonus points after your first purchase through June 30, 2015.
When you go to purchase live event tickets on the ScoreBig website, it will tell you how how many Southwest points you will earn. The more expensive the ticket, the more points you’ll earn, but I still cannot figure out how to determine the multiplier factor. While I have not personally tried it yet, I am almost 99% confident that points earned will count towards the Southwest Companion Pass which is great!
For those that are new to ScoreBig, it is a “ticket seller focused on providing savings to consumers for sports, concerts, theater, and other live events.” It allows you to save money on tickets to watch the NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, college sport games, broadway shows, concerts, attractions, etc. It is an easy process where you enter the price you’d like to pay and instantly you are told if your offer is accepted. If your offer isn’t accepted you have to wait 24 hours to re-bid on the exact same tickets. I personally used ScoreBig last year to get tickets to the US Open of Tennis. I was ultimately able to purchase tickets at about a 25% savings which was great!
I will definitely use this site again, although I do not purchase live tickets often, but being able to get a deal and earn Southwest points is pretty good in my book!
