Hilton just announced its first promotion for 2018 where there is no cap on the number of points you’ll earn. Every stay you’ll earn 2,000 bonus points and for every 5 stays you’ll earn an additional 10,000 point bonus! The best thing about this promotion is that you’ll earn points on both PAID and FREE NIGHT stays! While there are a few caveats this is a huge rarity in the points and miles world! This promotion runs January 1 through April 30, 2018. You must register for this promotion PRIOR to checking out for your stay. This is a great promotion for those who have cheap one night stays since you earn points based on your “stay” and not “nights”. So a $59 one night stay will earn you the same number of bonus points as a 5 night $359/night stay.
And as I mentioned above, many stays using points will earn the bonus points too. Although not all! Based on this FlyerTalk thread as long as you earn points from extra room charges on a free night stay, you’ll still earn the bonus points. That mean you can charge anything to your room, even a bottle of water from the convenient store, to trigger the bonus points. Unfortunately though, a few select properties under the Hilton umbrella are excluded from earning points on a free night stay. Excluded properties = Hampton Inn, Home2 Suites, Homewood Suites, and Tru by Hilton. Still a great opportunity for those looking to stay at other Hilton properties, especially if you are redeeming points at a low level property!
