American Airlines is giving out an opportunity to earn an easy breezy 1,250 free miles (will take probably 20 minutes). Then, if you complete some flying challenges you can earn up to an additional 9,250 miles. This opportunity is available through May 23, 2014.
How to earn the points:
- By answering some trivia questions, playing some games, sharing results with your Facebook friends, and being social, you can earn up to 1,250 miles. I was able to earn these miles in about 20 minutes.
- Complete flying challenges with American Airlines and US Airways to earn up to 9,250 miles.
First, you must go to this Facebook page, accept the terms, and enter your AAdvantage number. Then, complete all badges. Each badge will give you somewhere between 25 and 100 miles. Throughout some of the trivia questions and games there are additional opportunities to share your results with friends to earn more miles. To ensure I didn’t spam my entire Facebook list, I selected a custom list so it would just go to my family.
To earn the additional 9,250 miles you must complete these tasks:
- Fly US Airways –> earn 450 miles
- Fly any domestic route that is new to American Airlines due to the US Airways merger –> earn 450 miles
- Fly on any non-U.S. international flight on American Airlines or US Airways –> earn 500 miles
- Fly the US Airways Shuttle –> earn 450 miles
- Fly any oneworld partner airline –> earn 450 miles
- Beat your personal Elite Qualifying Points goal –> earn 2,500 miles
- Complete all of the “Fly and Earn” badges –> earn 4,500 miles
Even if you aren’t flying and just looking to maximize the free and easy miles, make sure to click on the “Fly and Earn” badges as you will earn 50 miles for each badge by completing the trivia questions.
Enjoy your free miles!

Do you have to credit the USAirways flight to your AA account to get the points, or will they know based on your dividend miles number?
