The on-demand car service Uber is giving away free rides this weekend within Washington DC. Each person can get up to two free rides of $20 each. This is valid starting today, Wednesday October 16 through Friday October 18 at 11:59pm.

Some things to know about this promotion:

  • You must enter promo code DCLOVESuberX in your Uber account
  • Only valid for uberX rides (does no apply to uberTaxi, UberBlack, or SuberSUV)
  • It states the “DC area, but doesn’t specify exactly where, my assumption is Arlington and Bethesda area also count
  • You will need to pay any amount over $20

The great thing about this promotion which differs from many others is that this is NOT for new Uber accounts only – even if you’ve applied a promotion to your account previously, you can still apply this code as well.

Now, if you are a new Uber member, you can maximize by signing up through a referral first.

  • New Uber members can get a free $10 credit just be signing up. This sign up must come from an existing member (the referrer receives a $10 credit as well after you take your first Uber trip).
  • Apply the two free rides in Chicago code DCLOVESuberX
  • When a first time user code comes along you can apply that code to your account at that point – using this code should not exclude you from that

To user Uber, you will need to download the app on your phone and enter your username/passcode. Enjoy!

Thank you Marshall Jackson on Travel for sharing this promotion!

This post is riddled with confusion between DC and Chicago. Might want to clean up the copy/paste
