Last week I posted about my easy breezy experience with the interview process for Global Entry. In the post I mentioned that there is a Global Entry interview location in NYC and it seems as though that was quite a pleasant surprise to most. So I wanted to make you all aware of this location. If you live in NYC or in the city visiting, there is no need to go to JFK or Newark for your interview.
When you go to schedule your interview you will notice two locations in NYC, one at Bowling Green and another at World Financial. As of right now, only the Bowling Green location actually has an office set up. The Bowling Green (US Customs House) is open Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm. Unfortunately there are no after work or weekend hours, but still a great option for most!
This location is all the way downtown at 1 Bowling Green. It is literally a stones through from the 4 or 5 train, but you can also get there via the 1, 2, 3, R, J, and Z trains.
So this is just a quick reminder about this location for those interested!

If you have a global entry interview at JFK, you *are* in New York City. It’s great to have additional options, but the title of this post should be “Global Entry Interview in Manhattan” or “New Global Entry Interview Locations in NYC”.
(Sorry, I grew up in Queens, so not considering that as part of NYC is a pet peeve).
@swag – Valid point. I’ll update.
The interview location at Bowling green in NYC doesn’t appear on the GOES website in the drop down list which you need to use to schedule the interview. JFK and EWR are both there. How do you therefore schedule an interview at the Bowling Green office?
Further to above .Answering my own question. Bowling Green NYC office is on the website drop down list but as US Customs House – Bowling Green! Who would have guessed to look there since the letter they send you to tell you to schedule an interview says it’s called Bowling Green. Should have guessed really since continuity within the DHS or the US Government from my extensive experience from having to deal with both is really non existent.
It probably took you 5 seconds to realize. Get a grip
Read the first post you numptie you CANNOT find Bowling Green on the GOES website using search ‘ Bowling Green’ from the letter . basic numptie 101 coding error . but what would you know.But of course the US Gov is drawn from the american population which probably explains it.
This was a very helpful post! thank you very much. I’m headed there this week to complete the interview for Global Entry, and it was great to come across this piece. Keep up the good work!
(p.s. it looks like the AMEX location is closed maybe for good?)
My god, they’re booked for MONTHS. Happy enough to take my money though
The Global Entry Application process is like a bad joke. The website looks like something from the 90s, is incredibly user-un-friendly, but I submitted it and got my preliminary approval back and asked to make an appointment. The interview process is worse than the application process. Bowling Green is very difficult to find — its comically not listed by City — but I eventually did. Next appointment? 4 and a half months hence! This demonstrates why the government should not be running the program, and they should be farming this out to a private company. Like most things in the US Government, and everything having to do with DHS, the Global Entry program is clearly run for the benefit of its employees, and not its users.
