Over this past month I’ve written about some great promotions where you can earn some free money just by referring friends to a few different sites/apps. Here is a roundup of those money making referring opportunities where you could potentially earn over $1,000!
1. Acorns
The financial investing site Acorns will give you a $1,000 bonus just for referring 12 friends! This is on top of the regular $5 you earn for every friend that signs up. All you have to do is get your friends to invest at least $5 and keep it in their account for 30 days. This promotion ends May 31, 2018.
Opening up an account is a quick process and should take no more then 5 minutes. You do have to give your social security number, which I know will turn people off, but I still did it. Your call whether or not you are comfortable giving out your info. You’ll also need to link your checking account for the one-time or recurring deposit. Of course you can deposit more money, but I kept it safe with just $5 for now. You will also be charged a fee of $1 a month if you have less then $5,000 in the account or .25% if you have more then $5,000. While the fees can be steep, the referral bonus definitely makes up for it as well as the “found money†promotions. You can open an account here.
The best thing about the sign up bonus is if you sign up now, your referral link is available immediately! So there is still time for you to sign up and then to get your friends on board. You can share your link through all your social media networks, mass emails, or just sign up your family members that trust you with your social! They really make it very easy to get your friends to sign up. This is a nice chunk of change so I suggest looking into it to see if it works for you!
2. Ibotta
During the month of May, Ibotta is giving out a total of $100,000 to those who refer just 2 friends (and redeems their first rebate). They will then split the $100,000 between all these referees! This is on top of the normal $5 bonus you receive, so at a minimum you’ll earn $10 plus your share. Ibotta. is a couponless way to get rebates on everyday purchases at many popular stores such as Target, Costco, BJ’s Wholesale, Stop and Shop, Walmart, Whole Foods, Rite Aid, Walgreens, Kroger, Publix, Shaws, Smart & Final, Giant, Safeway, Sams Club, CVS, and many other stores. It is by far one of my favorite money saving apps! This promotion ends May 31, 2018.
From the app, you can check out all products by store that have rebates attached to them. Some are for specific brands, while others are for any brand within a specific product. It’ll tell you when the product needs to be purchased by and the rebate you’ll receive back. Once you purchase the item, you’ll then need to take a picture of the products bar card and your receipt. You will then receive the cash back within 48 hours! Some stores even allow you to link your loyalty number which allows you to receive the rebate easier!
If you already have Ibotta, get a few more friends to sign up and if you are new you can still take advantage of this offer. Just sign up for an account (you can enter my referral code sqnugco – thanks in advance) and use your social media accounts to get some friends to sign up. Your friend will also earn an extra $10 after they redeem their first rebate.
3. Drop
The money saving app Drop is offering users a $50 bonus for referring friends. And this should be easy for everyone! All you have to do is get 5 friends to download the app, link a credit card, and confirm their account via email. Unlike other promotions where you earn money from referring friends, your friends do not actually have to use the app for the referral to process! They just need to set up an account. And even if you aren’t a Drop user yet, you can still take advantage – just download the app and start referring your friends! This promotion ends May 30, 2018.
With Drop, you’ll earn a certain number of point for every dollar spent at many merchants that you probably shop at often. Some include: Amazon, Costco, Nordstrom, Uber, Starbucks, Best Buy, Safeway, Walmart, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Lyft, Gap, Dunkin’ Donuts, instacart, etc. The number of points depend on the retailer, with some offering more then others. There are also many one-time offers where you’ll earn a nice bonus for your purchase. Once you earn a minimum of 5,000 points you can then redeem those points for a gift card (every 1,000 points = $1).
