Hyatt is again offering an awesome way to purchase Hyatt gift cards at a 10% discount. This opportunity was around during Black Friday and is being extended again to Hyatt travelers. Finding Hyatt gift cards on sale is rare, so this is definitely a promotion worth looking into. It could save you money on Hyatt hotels or even incidentals charged to your Hyatt bill if you are using points. To take advantage of this offer, you’ll want to apply the promotion code WINTER19 at checkout.

hyatts black friday promotion will give you a hyatt gift card discount

This promotion will be available through Dec. 23, 2019 so you do have a few days to figure out whether or not it makes sense for you. You can purchase between $25 and $2,000 in a single gift card and you are capped at purchasing $10,000 worth of gift cards per day.

Fortunately, Hyatt gift cards do not expire, although you do risk the chance of a Hyatt gift card getting hacked. There have been some negative stories around this, so keeping gift cards in your sock draw from awhile is not recommended. You can redeem these gift cards at participating Hyatt properties in North America, Canada, Mexico, Caribbean, Central America and South America. One caveat, however, is that they cannot be used on pre-paid rates. They can only be applied during the checkout process at the hotel directly.

Overall…

If you have an upcoming stay this absolutely could be the perfect opportunity to get an extra 10% off your stay. Just keep in mind though that you’ll be forgoing any points earned if you were to use the World of Hyatt credit card that earns 4x Hyatt points or the Chase Sapphire Reserve card that earns 3x points on travel. Since I value Hyatt points and Chase Ultimate Reward points to be worth about 2 cents per point, that would be an 8% or 6% return on your stay (although in points). Still the 10% off is better and you are getting the cash back in your pocket right away. But there are risk with gift cards, such as them getting lost or hacked.

Will you be purchasing discounted Hyatt gift cards during this holiday sale?
