Welcome to another post of helping a reader travel!
This weekly post is to help readers get a ton of travel advice from thousand of Deals We Like blog readers. Thus far, we’ve been able to help other readers travel to a slew of domestic and international destinations. Check out recent destinations and comment on suggestions here.
Last week a reader wrote in asking for Germany. I was able to cover Germany as a whole, but wanted to hit on many of the major tourist cities within the country as well. This will include: Munich, Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Cologne, and any others that are requested.
This week is going to be dedicated on Munich. Here are some things I am sure readers will want suggestions on:

I spent four days in Nuremberg for business two summers ago and had a wonderful time there! Great museums, lots of history and wunderbar food and beer! Bamberg- one of the only cities not to be destroyed in WWII- is only a 30 minute train ride away, absolutely beautiful and feels as if you’ve stepped back into the 1600s!
I was there last summer and stayed at the Marc Muenchen. Good rates, 5 minute walk from train station. Some reviews say area is not that good but I thought the area was okay, it is just not a 4 Seasons area. Booked directly through website and got a good rate. Rooms have been remodeled.
Neuschwanstein Castle a must see. Make sure and have tickets in advance. I booked a private tour.
Also train tickets can be purchased online directly from DB and are much cheaper than through Europe railway sites. 90 days in advance you can get discounted tickets for train travel

I’ve been traveling to Munich and spending some days in this beautiful city every year since 2008.
Here are a few suggestions I hope will prove useful to Dianna and all your readers!
Where to stay:
– If you’re looking for a good and relatively cheap 3 star hotel I would recommend staying at the ArtHotel Munich (Tripadvisor: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g187309-d1011443-Reviews-Arthotel_Munich-Munich_Upper_Bavaria_Bavaria.html) for its very convenient location (just a two minutes walk from the main railway and bus station) and awesome breakfast buffet!
Sites to see:
– Free guided tours start just in front of the Town Hall in Marienplatz every day: they are an excellent way to visit the city center and to learn a lot about the locals, too!
– While visiting Munich, don’t miss a trip to Neuschwanstein Castle, to Nuremberg (the medieval city centre and the Nazi documentation Center are really worth a visit!) and Bamberg (a really beautiful and interesting step into the past)!
Recommended restaurants:
– Augustiner (Tripadvisor: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g187309-d605256-Reviews-Augustinerbrau-Munich_Upper_Bavaria_Bavaria.html) for an authentically German dining experience.
