While there are many perks to having a hotel credit card, one of my favorite benefits is being able to earn automatic status or stays/nights towards status.
- Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card from American Express: Each card holder receives 2 stays and 5 nights annually towards status. This is credited to your account at the beginning of the calendar year. Also, if you have both the personal card and the business card that will double the number of stays/nights you receive a year making it that much easier to earn status. Additionally, you will automatically get upgraded to Gold status if you spend at least $30,000 per year on your card.
- Marriott Rewards Premier Credit Card: Each card holder receives 15 nights annually towards status. This is credited after each anniversary with the card. 15 nights will give you Silver status right off the bat. Additionally, every $3,000 spent on the card will earn you 1 night towards status.
- Marriott Credit Card: This is the non-premier version. Each card holder receives 10 nights annually towards status. This is credited after each anniversary with the card. 10 nights will give you automatic Silver status. Additionally, every $3,000 spent on the card will earn you 1 night towards status.
- Hilton HHonors Visa Signature Card: Each card holder receives automatic Silver status.
- Hilton HHonors American Express Card: Each card holder receives automatic Silver status.
- Hilton HHonors Surpass American Express Card: Earn card holder received automatic Gold status.
- Hilton HHonors™ Reserve Citi Credit Card: Automatic Gold status for the entire time you have this credit card.
- Hyatt: Each card holder receives automatic Platinum status.
- InterContinental: Each card holder receives automatic Gold status.

I keep coming back to this article. I really like the summary. It would also be awesome if you can add 2 things to each of these cards
– Name of Bank offering the card
– your rating of the signup/everyday value of the card
@Saurabh S – Glad you enjoyed this post! I can absolutely add the issuing bank for each card. I can also put together a post on my rating for each current sign up. Thanks for the support!
