IHG Accelerate is Back with Targeted Offers!

IHG is back with offering another Accelerate promotion, and like every other time, the offer that you personally receive will be targeted to your specific account. With that being said, it seems like everyone is eligible for some sort of promotion, some might just be better than others. This promotion will run January 1 and April 30, 2018.

To see your unique promotion, you’ll need to register here. You’ll have to complete specific tasks to earn bonus points for every eligible stay (make sure to read the terms per task to ensure your rate qualifies).

My personal offer is actually pretty decent. If I stay at two InterContinental hotels I can earn 43,500 points. Or, if I stay an additional three nights (during one of those two InterContinental hotel stays or during another stay), then I’ll earn a total of 53,500 points.

Keep in mind, “tasks” can overlap, so one stay might check check multiple boxes. So for my offer above, I’ll earn 24,000 points by staying at 2 InterContinental hotels. This will complete task #1 and #3. And as long as I use my IHG Rewards credit card that will complete task #4 as well. To complete my “Achievement Bonus” I just need to complete 3 out of the 4 offers which I will with those two InterContinental stays using my IHG credit card to pay for it. And if those two stays are in January I’ll get the extra 2,000 “January Bonus Offer”.

While the best situation to earn the bonus points is if you have upcoming IHG stays anyways, there are some situations when it might be worth it to do a mattress run to get the points. It really depends on your offer and hotel prices.

I actually might have my husband take advantage of this promotion during some work stays after the new year. He travels for work anyways and there are typically InterContinental properties. It will just require him to give up two SPG stays.
