UPDATE: This offer has expired

Although the public offer ended last week for the four Delta credit cards, you can still get the increased welcome offer by using a friends referral link! While, I only have a referral link available for the Delta Gold personal card, there are many other links floating around for the other cards. For these referral links, you must apply by July 26, 2017.

So if you are still thinking about applying for the Gold Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from American Express, here are the details:

  • Earn 60,000 miles after you make $3,000 in purchases on your new Card within your first 4 months. You can also earn a $50 statement credit after you make a Delta purchase with your new Card within your first 4 months. $0 introductory offer annual fee, then $95. Application link

If you’d prefer the Platinum version of the card, or the business version of the Gold card, definitely search around the internet to see if you can find a referral link for those cards. Or I am sure readers would be happy to have you apply through their link, so definitely check the comments section to see if any readers have a link!

While there are some differences between the Gold and Platinum version of the card, if you are just applying for the bonus miles, I recommend the Gold card over the Platinum. While you earn 10,000 less points, the annual fee is waived the first year, and then significantly lower every year thereafter. Where the Platinum card has a leg up is if you are looking to earn MQMs or will take advantage of the yearly companion ticket.

Other card benefits:

  • You’ll receive your first checked bag for free for both you and 8 other passengers on the same itinerary, Priority boarding, 20% in-flight savings, and discounted SkyClub access. I personally find those benefits pretty basic, but the free checked baggage can really save you some money depending on how you fly.
  • Since all are American Express cards, you are eligible to take advantage of the many American Express statement credit offers that I write about often! This can help offset the annual fee and help you save money! Learn more about Amex Offers.
