Starting at 12pm today, you can book a JetBlue flight through April 30, 2014. While most larger airlines allow you to book travel 330 days in advance, JetBue extends their reservations systems a few months at a time. This means you can go ahead and book for next years Spring Break.

I know booking this far ahead of time is nerve racking as you do not want to book a flight and then have to change or cancel it – and those fees are not cheap! However, if you are concerned that the price of your ticket might go down in price, JetBlue allows you to book now and get a credit if that happens. If you notice your flight goes down in price:

  • For paid flights, you will receive a voucher for the difference to be used one year from the date the flight was purchased. You can either call and now apparently do it online as well by rebooking your original flight. Sometimes online prices are less than what the agent sees on their side so doing it online might get you the best fare.
  • For flights booked with points, you can get the difference credited to your account, but not 100% sure if this can be done online.

I’ve done this before with JetBlue and the voucher came in very handy to use for a future family members flight. This is a great perk with JetBlue (Southwest and AirTran give you this benefit as well).

Happy booking!
